My first task of the new school year must be to congratulate those students who helped the school to yet another overall record breaking GCSE year - a 78% pass rate. We are particularly delighted with the improvement in our Maths GCSE results this year, with 51% of students gaining A*-C grades. Well done to all concerned.
Our new year 7 and year 12 students will begin school on Wednesday, 1st September, at 10.30am, and all other years should report at the normal time (8.55am) on Thursday 2nd September.
A final reminder that all boys need to be in the new house colour ties in September. If you have not yet purchased a tie, could I urge you to do so on 1st September, rather than sending your son into school to buy one on his first day back, as this will cause a delayed start to the day. A more detailed uniform "refresher" can be found in my last whole school letter, which is posted on this website under "About us/School information/School letters".
I hope that everyone is rested and refreshed after the holiday, and ready for the challenge and excitement of another year! I look forward to welcoming everyone back.
Regards,
Maurice Graham, Headteacher
