We have a Curriculum of which we are justifiably very proud and it’s not just us that believes that. Ofsted inspectors, in our past three reports, have specifically highlighted the curriculum as being outstanding. This accolade doesn’t happen by accident; it is carefully and thoughtfully planned that way. We want each and every pupil to do the very best that they can and to support this aim we ensure that there is a clear and appropriate career pathway for each child. Although we are a large school we do ensure that each child has a bespoke curriculum. No mean feat!
The curriculum is very broad and varied ranging from the practical vocational based courses of Motor Vehicle, Hair, Beauty and Horse Care to the more traditional academic routes of the Humanities, Languages and of course English, Maths and the Sciences and the Arts. The subjects can, if appropriate, be mixed and matched to ensure that students’ KS4 curriculum choices really are unique to them and their needs.
The table below shows the number of lessons per fortnight. Since our curriculum is so varied, each set will have a slightly different balance of subjects, so the tables below are just a rough guide. More specific details can be sought from Mr Conway, Assistant Headteacher.
